Degree B.Sc. (HONS)

The course is specially for students who already hold qualification in Computer Science and related subjects. It allows students to join the course in the final year as well as in the second and first year level. The degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computing is one of the Division's flagship courses and illustrates well the flexibility and detail offered by the whole programme.

By recognizing a student's previous qualifications, it is often possible to grant a student exemption from the first two years of the course and to offer a place on the final year, thus making it possible to complete a degree in a single academic year.

CERTIFICATE IN FOUNDATION SKILLS (CIFS)

Objective

The main objective is to provide students with the foundational skills necessary for their future ICT academic and professional careers.

This is a one semester foundation course designed to prepare students for Diploma Courses. Courses taught include Literacy Skills, Numeracy Skills and Technology Skills.

Students are expected to pass all the three courses to qualify for their chosen Diploma Courses. While some of the courses are project based others are examinable. The courses are also certified by Informatics Academy International, Singapore.

INTERNATIONAL ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN COMPUTING

This is a three- semester course including the One Semester Foundation Study with Certificate awarded by Informatics Academy Singapore.

Course Objectives:

  1. To provide students with a level of knowledge and skills appropriate to the application of Information Technology
  2. To understand aspects of computer architecture (hardware and software) which affect the design of computer-based systems.
  3. To ensure that students can describe the personnel issues involved with the design, implementation and operation of computer-based systems.

INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS

This International Diploma course is validated and certificate awarded by Informatics Academy, Singapore. The three-Semester course (One Semester Foundation Course Inclusive) is specially designed for students who are holders of Senior Secondary Qualifications or its equivalent with minimum of five credits including English Language and Mathematics. 

The IDITC course allows students to attain an in-depth understanding in the areas of computing and information technology. Upon successful completion of the IDITC course, students may proceed to the International Advance Courses. 

Course Objectives:

  1. To provide basic knowledge of Computer Hardware and Software for personal, Institutional and Technological Development.
  2. To provide the specific mathematical skills required for the practical understanding of the use of computers, and sufficient training in programming to make possible the effective writing and documentation of a suite of programs using an appropriate programming language.
